Moving Day Cleaning Checklist.

Keep the final clean organized while the rest of your move is in motion.

Bright, empty home prepared for a move

Moving comes with enough decisions. A short cleaning checklist can help you leave one space well and begin the next with confidence.

Before cleaning begins

Set aside the supplies you still need and remove boxes from the areas you plan to clean. If the home will be empty, check that water and electricity remain available. Take a quick look at any lease, sale, or turnover requirements so you know which details matter most.

Work from high to low

  • Check reachable vents, light fixtures, shelves, and upper surfaces for dust.
  • Wipe cabinet fronts and clean accessible shelves and drawers once empty.
  • Clean kitchen counters, sinks, appliance exteriors, and other agreed accessible areas.
  • Give bathrooms attention at sinks, mirrors, tubs or showers, and fixtures.
  • Finish with baseboards and floors after the higher surfaces are complete.

Remember the easy-to-miss spots

Look inside closets, behind doors, along window sills, and around door frames. In a move-out, remove any items you do not intend to leave behind. In a move-in, identify any areas that need care before furniture arrives and blocks access.

Confirm the scope early

Every property and move is different. If you need interior appliance cleaning, inside cabinets, or other detailed work, mention it when arranging service. A shared checklist makes the final walkthrough smoother for everyone.
